1/2 cup chopped salt pork
1 md. onion, chopped
1/2 cup sliced celery
1/2 md. green bell pepper, diced
1-1/2 cup diced potatoes
2 cups water
1 lg. bay leaf
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1/2 cup light cream
2 cups corn, cut fresh from cob

Instructions

Brown salt pork in heavy saucepan; add onion and cook for three minutes. Add next six ingredients. Simmer until potatoes are tender. Mix flour with a little milk; add that and the remaining milk to potato mixture. Add cream and corn; heat gently.
