Chocolate Chip Cherry Drops

| 1/4 cup | butter or | | margarine, softened | | 3 oz. | cream cheese, softened | | 1/2 cup | sugar | | 1/4 cup | light brown sugar, packed | | 1 | egg | | 1/2 tsp. | vanilla extract | | 1-1/3 cup | all-purpose flour | | 1/4 tsp. | soda | | 1/2 tsp. | salt | | 1 cup | semi-sweet chocolate chips | | 1/4 cup | maraschino cherries, drained and chopped | | 36 | cherry halves |

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F. Cream butter, cream cheese, sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla in mixer bowluntil light and fluffy. Combine flour, soda, and salt in small bowl. Add to creamed mixture, mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and chopped cherries. Drop by rounded teaspoonfulls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Top each cookie with a cherry half. Bake for 8 minutes or just until set. Remove immediately to wire rack to cool.
