1 lb. sm. cucumbers
3 cups thinly sliced onions
1/2 cup coarse salt
4 cups sugar
4 cups white vinegar
2 tsp. tumeric
3 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. celery seed

Instructions

Scrub cucumbers but do not peel. Slice thinly, about 1/8-inch (4 mm.) thick. Combine cucumbers, onions and salt. Cover and let stand for 12 hours, or add 2 trays of ice cubes and let stand for 3 hours. Drain well. Combine remaining ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add drained vegetables and bring to a full boil. Pack into hot, sterilized jars, covering vegetables with hot liquid.
