8 lg. carrots, coarsely shredded
3 cups soft bread crumbs
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
1 cup grated American or
cheddar cheese
Warm milk, at 110-115°F


Put carrots and bread crumbs in alternate layers in a shallow baking dish. Sprinkle each layer with salt and pepper. Sprinkle top with cheese. Add enough hot milk just to cover to the top of mixture. Bake in preheated 400°F oven for 1 hour.
