1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can (1 lb.) stewed tomatoes
1 lg. green pepper, chopped
1/2 cup long-grain rice, uncooked
1/2 cup water
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese; shredded


In a skillet, brown beef; drain. Transfer to a greased 2 quart casserole. Add the next 8 ingredients. Cover and bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until rice is tender. Uncover and sprinkle with the cheese; return to the oven until cheese melts, about 5 minutes.

This is one of the most requested meals in my household of 3 kids and hungry husband. I have to double, sometimes triple the recipe so we have leftovers the next day.
