For larger amount (like a 9x13 pan) double recipe. I prefer rosemary to savory, but it's up to you. Enjoy!

This is a fantastic recipe! My husband absolutely loved it. It is incredibly simple to make and fun to eat. My only suggestions would be 1) to double the recipe, because it is so good your friends and family will be asking for seconds 2) the addition of one cup of canned french fried onions on the top gives it some crunch and excellent flavor 3)change the amount of garlic to four cloves instead of one and 4)prepare the recipe start to finish in an iron skillet, looks fantastic coming out of the oven in this sturdy piece of cookware, plus its easy clean-up. As most shepherd's pie recipes are served with gravy, this savory recipe needs none, with every bite, your taste buds will sing, leave the salt and pepper shakers off the table for this one!

Very yummy. I used beef consomme, increasing amount slightly. Big hit with the family!
