INGREDIENTS

1 recipe pizza dough
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 cloves garlic, sliced
8 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
2 tomatoes, sliced
4 sprigs basil, chiffonade
Salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 425°F. Prepare the pizza dough and roll out onto a pizza tray. Brush olive oil over dough and sprinkle with garlic. Arrange the mozzarella slices first, then the tomato slices around the pizza.

Place pizza in oven and bake for 12 minutes, until crust is a light golden brown. Remove from oven. Turn on broiler and place pizza below broiler for about 1 minute, until the mozzerella has turned golden brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle basil over top the pizza. Slice and serve.

Any pizza establishment in Italy has the Margherita on the menu. It's simple to make and very flavorful.
