Children's Cookie Pops

3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Frosting

1/3 cup butter
dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups sifted icing sugar
3 tbsps milk

Instructions

Cookie dough:
Cream butter, sugar and blend in eggs and vanilla. Add sifted ingredients and mix well. Chill. Roll 1/4 inch thick & cut in flower or fancy shapes. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet @400 F. degrees for 8 - 10 minutes.
Cool. Decorate with frosting.

Frosting.
Cream butter with salt & vanilla. Add icing sugar alternately with milk, beating until light and fluffy. Tint if desired. Decorate with cinnamon red hots, Smarties, miniature marshmallows, cake decorates, chocolate chips, coloured sugar, nuts, raisins etc.
