Pears with Nut Stuffing

INGREDIENTS

1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
1 tbsp. lemon juice
4 pears, halved
1/3 cup finely chopped nuts
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. brandy
1 tbsp. sour cream
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tbsp. sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 325°F. Mix 1/3 cup sugar, the water and lemon juice in ungreased square pan, until sugar dissolves. Arranges pears in pan, turning to coat with sugar mixture. Cover and bake in oven until pears are almost tender when pierced with fork, about 25 minutes.

Please 1 pear half cut side up in each of 8 serving dishes. Mix nuts, 2 tbsp. sugar, the brandy, 1 tbsp. sour cream and the vanilla; fill centers of pear halves with nut mixture. Mix sour cream and 1 tbsp. sugar. Top each pear half and dollop of sour cream mixture.
