Hershey's Chewy Brownie Cookies

Servings: 3 dozen

INGREDIENTS

2/3 cups shortening
1-1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. water
2 eggs
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup Hershey's cocoa
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Beat shortening, brown sugar, and water until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Mix flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to sugar mixture until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Heat oven to 375°F. Drop cookies 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool for 2 minutes.
