Servings:

INGREDIENTS

2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/4 tsp. five spice powder
2 cups onion, thinly sliced
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/4 tsp. salt
3 cups chard, slivered

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat oil in pan over medium low heat. Add five spice powder; fry for a few seconds. Add onion; fry until it is translucent, 2 or 3 minutes. Stir constantly. Add the turmeric and salt; stir briefly. Add the chard. Reduce heat to very low, cover and cook just until the chard is green and limp. Do not cook so much that it loses its colour. Cook for no more than 5 or 10 minutes. Remove from heat and serve at once. This dish goes well with rice and mung beans.
