Keftedes (Greek Meat Balls)

INGREDIENTS
1-1/2 lb. ground round steak
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup fine, soft breadcrumbs
2 med. onions, finely chopped
2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1 tbsp. chopped fresh mint
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Shortening for frying
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine all the ingredients except the shortening and mix thoroughly. Refrigerate for several hours. Shape into small balls and fry in the melted shortening. Serve hot.
