SERVINGS

INGREDIENTS

1 cup drained sauerkraut
1/2 tsp. caraway or dill seed
1 clove garlic, pressed
12 rye bread
1/2 cup Russian dressing
6 slices American cheese
1 lb. thinly sliced corned beef
Butter

INSTRUCTIONS

Drain sauerkraut. Toss it with the caraway or dill seeds and the garlic. Set aside this mixture. Spread the bread with the dressing on one side. Top six slices of bread with corned beef, sauerkraut, cheese slice, and remaining six slices of bread. Brush melted butter on both sides of the sandwiches. Grill (in a skillet or in the broiler) until the cheese melts. Serve hot.
