Holiday Cookies

Servings: 8 dozen
INGREDIENTS
1 cup shortening
3-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. soda
1 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 cups rolled oats
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups corn flakes
2 cups flour, sifted
1 cup peanuts and/or chocolate chips
Grated rind of 1 orange
INSTRUCTIONS
Cream shortening and sugar. Add unbeaten eggs and beat well. Add vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients and and add to creamed mixture. Stir in rolled oats, cornflakes and peanuts/chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 12-15 minutes.
