Fry's P'nutty Chocolate Cookies

Servings: 2 dozen

INGREDIENTS

1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups peanut butter chips
1 cup chopped peanuts

INSTRUCTIONS

Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Cream butter and shortening in large mixer bowl until light. Gradually beat in brown and granulated sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Stir in peanut butter chips and peanuts. Drop spoonfuls of dough, 2-inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets; flatten slightly with back of spoon. Bake in 375°F (190°C) oven for 7 to 8 minutes. Cool on sheets 1 to 2 minutes; remove from sheets and cool completely.
