Sausage Biscuits

SERVINGS
1 dozen scale / convert
INGREDIENTS
1-1/2 lb. breakfast sausage
1 pkg. yeast softened in 1/4 cup warm water
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup shortening
2-2/3 cups flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Brown, drain and crumble sausage, set aside.
Mix together last 5 dry ingredients.
Cut in shortening.
Add yeast mixture and buttermilk.
Mix together then add sausage.
Knead together and roll 1" think on floured board (add more flour as needed).
Cut in circles (drinking glass works well).
Bake on ungreased sheet at 400 for 20 min.
