5 Spice Pork and Potato

INGREDIENTS

3 large russet potatos
2 tbsp. canola oil
1lb lean boneless pork (shoulder or butt)
cut into strips
2 cloves of garlic minced
11/2 cups of water
3tbsp. soy sauce
2tsp. sugar
11/4tsp. of Chinese 5 spice powder
1/3 cup of sliced green onion

INSTRUCTIONS

Peel potatoes and cut crosswise into 1/2 inch slices; set aside. Place wok on high or if using gas, use high flame. When hot, add oil. Once oil starts to get hot add pork and garlic; stir fry until pork is browned. Add potatoes, water, soy sauce, sugar and 5 spice. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes or until potatos are done. Turn off heat and add the green onion, mix together. Serve with steamed rice.

This is an Asian dish that I love to make. It has that home style feel to it. It is real easy and simple to make. Enjoy!
