Chocolate Covered Cherry Pie

INGREDIENTS

1 graham cracker pie crust
6 ounces chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
Cool Whip

INSTRUCTIONS

In a saucepan, over low heat, bring chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and salt to a boil, stirring continuously until blended. Mix in cherry pie filling. Pour into graham cracker crust. Garnish with dollops of whipped cream.

CHEF COMMENTS

No cooking makes this little treasure a real "Keeper."

This is pretty good. I made a non-dairy (pareve) version of this, substituting 1 cup of Rich Whip for the can of sweetened condensed milk, and it came out pretty well. But, if you use too much milk, it comes out too liquidy, so you need to be careful. If it is too liquidy, you can freeze it, but if you do that, you will need to partially defrost it before serving... April 20, 2007
