I'V HEARD OF THIS METHOD AND WANTED TO TRY IT;WHEN I DID,OF COURSE,ICOULDN'T LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE.AFTER DRINKING HALF THE CAN,I OPTED TO ADD SOME FLAVORING TO THE REMAINDER OF THE CAN.I USED FRESH CHOPPED GINGER,ALSO FRESH CHOPPED GARLIC.I ALS TRIED ADDING ABOUT A TABLESPOON OF SOY SAUCE.ON ANOTHER OCCASION,SESAME OIL.FRESH CHOPPED ROSEMARY IS ALSO GREAT.

This is an easy great recipe. I like to do this one on my gas grill while we are outdoors doing yardwork, playing, etc...I turn the grill to medium-low and put the beer chicken on the side with no flame on. It takes longer to cook (2 1/2 or 3 hours).Pair it with a nice spinach salad or cold pasta salad and crusty french bread. Voila! No work at all and a really juicy chicken meal.

This is a real good recipe. There are so many things that you can add to it. I have done it with soda instead of beer (saving the beer for myself). I used ginger ale and even root beer with it.

Never dump the beer! Also try lemon juice or OJ, any spices you like (strong ones work best) allspice, groung cloves etc. Also after oiling bird, meat rubs work great. I do Roasters and young Turkeys. Buy a beer can chicken holder they work great for larger birds. Use fruit wood to smoke your bird 4-5 hours on grill 200-250°F. Always leave on longer then you think necessary the steam will always keep moist.
