Bread Machine Whole Wheat Onion Herb Bread

INGREDIENTS

2/3 cup bread flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup finely diced onions
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon yeast
1 Tablespoon honey
2/3 cups warm water
1 Tablespoon canola oil

INSTRUCTIONS

Place in bread machine in order recommended by manufacturer. Use setting you would use for wheat bread.

CHEF COMMENTS

Good served warm with meal or toasted. Try herbed (no fat)cream cheese as a spread. Approximately 150 calories per slice.

This recipe obviously was not tested -- a waste of my time and my ingredients - the proportions of liquid to flour are way off -- I managed to salvage the loaf by adding huge amounts of flour and baking it in my range oven -- very tasty October 26, 2007
