Choco-Dot Pumpkin Cake

INGREDIENTS
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 can (1 lb.) pumpkin
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup Bran cereal
6 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup nuts, coarsely chopped
Confectioner's sugar (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar, and spices. Set aside. Beat eggs until frothy. Add pumpkin, oil, and cereal. Mix well. Add dry ingredients, and stir until combined. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Spread in an ungreased tube pan. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour. When cool, place on plate and drizzle with confectioner's sugar if desired.
