Caramel Pecan Pie

INGREDIENTS
36 Kraft caramels
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup water
3 eggs,beaten
1/4 cup margarine
1 cup pecan halves
3/4 cup sugar
1 (9-inch) pastry shell
1/4 tsp. salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Melt caramels with water and margarine in a saucepan over low heat. Stir occasionally until smooth. Combine sugar, salt and eggs. Gradually add caramel sauce; mix well. Stir in pecan halves. Pour into pastry shell. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes. The pie filling will appear soft, but becomes firm as it cools.
