The cake was good, but didn't deserve the name and I've made better. I was really surprised that it rose the expected height, then deflated when it cooled. It looked like a big doughnut. The icing is just sugar glaze, it might be better if it were made with fruit puree, like berry. February 27, 2006

These were moist, sweet and rich without any frosting. If I make it again I would reduce the amount of the filling by using only 6 oz. of chocolate chips. A whole bag of chocolate chips made too much filling, it didn't sink and didn't look very attractive. They still tasted very good. December 25, 2005

This really needs a large sauce pan to cook in. I used a medium and had to boil it for over 45 minutes. Also, the candy thermomiter wasn't a good gauge. I needed to use the "hard ball stage" of candy making. Even then, this came out to be the kind of toffee that really sticks in your teeth because of the high butter content. It didn't get good reviews from my family and friends. December 25, 2005

Wow, these are the best and easiest dumplings I have ever eaten. Super good. December 13, 2005

I got rave reviews from everyone for this pie. Personally, I would have liked twice as much praline in it and will double the praline portion of the recipe next time. December 5, 2005

I made this and everyone loved it. But, the cream cheese did not marble well. I would recommend using a spoon instead of a knife to marble it through the pumpkin cake. December 5, 2005
