reiswurst

Reiswurst (rice sausage) is a sausage made and sold by butchers in Australia's
Barossa Valley, continuing traditions brought by their religious refugee
ancestors from Silesia in mid-19th century. It was previously called blutwurst
(blood sausage) but apparently the name deterred people so it was changed
as a marketing ploy! It can be eaten cold but is especially delicious fried in
slices, as part of a full English-style breakfast, as a barbecue ingredient or
served over a salad (my own recipe!).
It is a love-it or hate-it food!
